Resetting the garage door light is done by resetting the opener itself and clearing any manual override that keeps the light on. The garage door light does not have its own independent reset button, it is controlled by the logic board and wall console. First, check your wall control. Most Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Craftsman wall controls have a dedicated light button. If the light is staying on constantly, press that light button once to turn off the continuous on mode and return to automatic timer mode. If the light will not turn on at all, press the button to ensure it is not manually turned off. If that does not work, perform a full power reset. Unplug the garage door opener from the ceiling outlet. If you have a battery backup unit, open the light lens and disconnect the battery's quick-connect plug. Leave the opener with no power for 60 to 90 seconds. This drains power from the logic board and resets the light relay and motion sensor logic. Reconnect the battery and then AC power. The unit should beep or flash its lights as it reboots. Operate the door with a remote to see if the light now comes on for its normal 4 minute cycle and turns off. If the wall panel has motion detection, you can disable it temporarily to see if false motion triggers were keeping the light on.
