What is the most anti-American country?

Determining the most anti-American country is difficult because attitudes change over time and depend on whether you measure government rhetoric, official policy, or public opinion polls. There is no single definitive answer that applies every year. According to long-term international polling by organizations like Gallup, Pew Research, and others, countries that have consistently shown very high levels of unfavorable views toward the United States and its foreign policy often include Iran, where anti-Americanism has been part of state ideology since 1979, North Korea, where state media promotes strong anti-US messaging, and Russia, where unfavorable views have risen sharply in the last decade due to geopolitical tensions. In the Middle East and parts of South Asia, countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Palestine have also reported high unfavorable ratings in some years due to disagreements over US foreign policy, military interventions, and support for Israel. In some periods, Serbia, Belarus, and other countries have also shown strong unfavorable sentiment. It is important to distinguish between criticism of US government policy and dislike of American people or culture, as polls often show that even where policy is criticized, American culture, technology, and education remain popular. Public opinion can also shift quickly after elections or international events.
