What is AA in slang?

In slang, AA has many different meanings depending on the community using it, so context is very important. In everyday American English, one of the oldest slang meanings is Alcoholics Anonymous, which is also used as shorthand for someone who is in recovery or for a meeting itself, like I'm going to an AA meeting. In Black American slang and hip-hop culture, AA can mean African American. In online gaming and texting, AA can mean almost always or above average, but that is less common. In dating slang, AA can mean Asian American. In British slang, AA can refer to the Automobile Association. Among young people on TikTok and Instagram, AA is sometimes used to mean aesthetically appealing or as an abbreviation for aesthetic. In some drug culture slang, AA has been used to refer to high-quality drugs, but this is not mainstream. In work slang, AA can mean administrative assistant or associate's degree. In gaming specifically, AA can mean auto attack or anti-air. Because it is so short, AA is reused constantly, so you always need to look at the sentence around it to understand which meaning is intended in that particular chat or post.
