Despite its tremendous environmental and economic benefits, widespread adoption of biogas is often hindered by high initial capital setup costs for small-scale digesters, the daily labor required to feed and maintain organic slurry inputs, and cultural hesitations regarding handling animal or human waste. Additionally, unlike centralized natural gas pipelines or bottled LPG distribution networks, raw biogas lacks universal commercial delivery infrastructure, requiring consumers to live in close proximity to the generation source or invest in expensive purification and compression technologies.
