Purified and compressed biogas (Bio-CNG) or unrefined domestic biogas is generally much cheaper to produce and utilize over the long term than petroleum-derived diesel fuel, particularly for agricultural machinery, captive commercial fleets, and rural households situated near organic waste sources. While the initial capital expenditure required to install anaerobic digesters or purchase gas-converted engines can be high, the ongoing operational cost relies on freely available waste streams, yielding substantial savings over fossil fuel alternatives.
