Raw biogas cannot be converted directly into Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) because LPG is composed primarily of propane and butane derived from petroleum refining and natural gas extraction, whereas biogas is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide. Nevertheless, biogas can undergo an extensive upgrading and enrichment process to isolate high-purity methane, which can then be heavily compressed into Bio-CNG cylinders to serve a functionally identical cooking or vehicle-fuel purpose, though its chemical makeup remains distinct.
