Human waste is an exceptionally potent feedstock for anaerobic digestion, generating high volumes of methane-rich gas due to its high organic concentration and nutrient density. When human excreta is channeled directly into biogas digesters alongside animal manure, it accelerates microbial activity and significantly boosts total gas production yields. While culturally underutilized in certain regions, human waste provides a safe, highly efficient sanitation and energy recovery solution when managed through closed biological treatment systems.
