Mice crawling on you while you are sleeping is possible but uncommon, and most house mice will actively try to avoid direct contact with humans because they see people as large predators. However, if you have a significant infestation, if you sleep on the floor, or if you have food crumbs in your bed, the chances increase. Mice are nocturnal and explore at night when the house is quiet, and they may climb onto beds, couches, or other furniture while foraging, especially if they smell food. Cases where mice crawl on sleeping people are more likely when there are many mice, when the bedroom is cluttered, or when someone eats in bed. Mice are very light and their claws are tiny, so you might not even feel a mouse walking across you, or you might wake up feeling a tickle. While they are unlikely to bite unless they feel trapped, any contact can expose you to droppings, urine, and parasites. To prevent this, keep food out of the bedroom, store bedding off the floor, seal holes in bedroom walls, keep the room clean, set traps outside the bedroom rather than inside to draw them away, and wash bedding regularly. If you are concerned, using a bed frame and keeping the area around the bed clear helps deter them.
