Some amateur gardening advice suggests sprinkling used or fresh coffee grounds around a house perimeter to deter pests. However, coffee grounds do not repel termites or act as an effective termiticide. In fact, sprinkling organic coffee grounds near a foundation can hold dampness and attract moisture-loving insects, inadvertently creating conditions that invite pests closer to your home.
