Turning off indoor or outdoor lights can help prevent attracting winged swarmers (alates) to your windows at night, as reproductive termites are naturally drawn toward bright light sources during their mating flights. However, turning off lights has zero effect on established subterranean or drywood termite colonies already living and feeding hidden inside your dark wall cavities and framing.
