Termites work and feed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no regard to day or night cycles, because they operate entirely hidden inside dark, humid environments protected from light and air. However, swarming reproductives looking to exit the nest and start new colonies are most commonly observed flying out during warm daytime hours, particularly in the morning after rain.
