Applying Dawn dish soap mixed with water can kill a few individual termites on contact by breaking down their protective outer cuticles and causing suffocation, but it is entirely useless for treating a home infestation. Soap spray cannot reach hidden colonies nesting deep within structural wood or underground, meaning the main colony will survive and continue damaging the building.
