A T mold, or T-molding, is a specialized piece of transition molding shaped like the letter "T" used in interior flooring to bridge the gap between two adjoining rooms or surfaces that sit at the exact same height. The vertical leg of the "T" drops down into the expansion gap between the floors, while the horizontal flanges overlap the edges of both floor coverings. It provides a clean, finished appearance while allowing wood or laminate flooring the necessary room to expand and contract naturally with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity.
