Securing T-molding to a concrete subfloor requires specialized hardware or heavy-duty construction adhesives because standard wood nails cannot penetrate concrete. The most common and effective installation method utilizes a specialized metal or plastic tracking channel that is either glued down with urethane-based adhesive or anchored using masonry screws and plastic anchors drilled directly into the concrete slab. Once the track is securely fastened along the expansion gap between the two flooring surfaces, the T-molding piece is simply snapped, tapped, or glued firmly into the track, holding it securely in place while allowing for natural floor expansion.
