You can obtain a UCI ID in Australia through AusCycling, which is the national federation recognised by the Union Cycliste Internationale. A UCI ID is a unique 11-digit global identifier that tracks your race results, ranking and anti-doping history and is required if you want to race in UCI-sanctioned events in Australia or overseas, such as UCI Gran Fondos, UCI World Cups, Masters World Championships or Continental Championships. To get a UCI ID, you must first join AusCycling and purchase a race licence. Go to auscycling.org.au and create an AusCycling account, then purchase either an All Discipline Race licence or a relevant race membership. During registration, AusCycling will automatically request a UCI ID for you if you do not already have one, or you can request it via your AusCycling member portal under My Licences. AusCycling submits your details including full legal name, date of birth, nationality and photo ID to the UCI. The UCI ID is typically issued within 5-10 business days and will appear in your AusCycling profile and on your digital licence card. It is free as part of your AusCycling licence fee, which ranges from $110 for a junior to $350 for an elite race licence per year. You need to renew your AusCycling membership each year to keep your UCI ID active, but the number itself stays the same for life. If you previously had a Cycling Australia licence, your old CA licence number has been migrated to a UCI ID.
