Costco does not directly offer its own branded roadside assistance service in Australia, unlike in the US where Costco members can get discounted roadside assistance through Allstate Motor Club and discounted car insurance. In Australia, Costco membership does not include free roadside assistance as a membership benefit. You cannot call Costco if your car breaks down. However, Costco Australia does offer indirect ways to get cheap roadside assistance. Costco Australia sells discounted car batteries, tyres and fuel, and has a partnership with Budget and other insurance providers in some periods offering discounted car insurance that may include optional roadside assistance add-on. Costco members in Australia can buy discounted NRMA, RACV or RACQ gift memberships or discounted roadside assistance packages when they are on promotion in the Costco warehouse or online. Also, if you buy tyres or batteries at Costco Tyre Centre, they offer free fitting and some warranty benefits but not roadside assistance itself. In the US, Costco members can purchase Allstate Motor Club roadside assistance for around $60 per year, which includes towing, battery and tyre help, and that is often cheaper than AAA. In Australia, if you are a Costco member looking for cheap roadside assistance, the best equivalent is to use your Costco membership to buy discounted car insurance with roadside add-on from Budget Direct or Allianz, or to purchase a discounted state motoring club membership during Costco promotions. So direct Costco roadside assistance does not exist in Australia, but you can use Costco to access cheaper third-party roadside cover.
