Pouring a second layer of self-leveling concrete is entirely possible and often necessary if the initial pour did not achieve the required height or left minor remaining surface imperfections. However, you cannot simply pour new self-leveler directly onto an already cured layer without proper preparation. The first layer must be completely dry, clean of all dust and debris, and treated with a compatible acrylic primer to ensure the new compound forms a strong, permanent chemical bond. Failing to clean and re-prime the surface between layers will result in the top layer delaminating, cracking, or breaking apart under foot traffic.
