Spiders cannot hear you speak in same way humans hear with ears and understand speech, because they do not have ears, eardrums, or auditory cortex to process language, but they can detect vibrations and air movements produced by speaking through sensitive sensory structures. Spiders have tiny sensory hairs called trichobothria on legs that detect air vibrations and low frequency sounds, and lyriform organs that detect vibrations in exoskeleton and webs, so when you speak, your voice creates air pressure waves and vibrations that spiders may sense as movement or disturbance, though not as understood words. Recent research has shown that jumping spiders can detect airborne sounds from several meters away and respond to low frequency sounds like buzzing, and orb weaver spiders can detect sounds through web vibrations and react by crouching or moving. So while spiders cannot comprehend speech or hear conversation as humans do, they can sense that something is making noise nearby and may freeze or flee as defensive response. If you speak loudly near spider, it may feel vibrations and move away, perceiving potential predator. So spiders cannot hear you speak in auditory sense, but they can detect vibrations from your voice through sensitive hairs and webs, sensing presence but not understanding speech.
