Grouting your tile installation only five hours after the tiles have been set into thinset mortar is generally much too soon and poses a high risk of ruining the project. Standard thinset mortar typically requires a minimum curing window of twenty-four hours to achieve adequate bond strength and structural stability. If you apply heavy pressure with a rubber grout float or step onto freshly laid tiles after only five hours, the tiles can easily shift, sink into un cured mortar, break their bond, or squeeze the wet adhesive up into the joint lines, ruining the uniform depth required for a professional grout finish.
