The 2026 Winter Olympics will be hosted by Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy, officially called Milano Cortina 2026, scheduled from February 6 to 22, 2026. This will be the first time Italy has hosted the Winter Olympics since Turin 2006 and the third time Italy has hosted the Winter Games after Cortina previously hosted in 1956. The Games will be spread across northern Italy with ice sports in Milan, alpine skiing in Cortina and Bormio, and other mountain events in Livigno and Predazzo. The 2028 Summer Olympics will be hosted by Los Angeles, California in the United States, officially called LA 2028, scheduled from July 14 to 30, 2028. This will be the third time Los Angeles has hosted the Summer Olympics after 1932 and 1984, making LA only the third city after London and Paris to host three Summer Games, and it will be the fifth Summer Olympics hosted by the United States overall. LA 2028 will use mostly existing venues like SoFi Stadium, the LA Coliseum, and Crypto.com Arena, with events also in Oklahoma City for cricket and softball. The 2026 Games are Winter and the 2028 Games are Summer, following the IOC's alternating two-year cycle.
