Reasons why your oven will not start include power issues, safety lockouts, and component failures. The most common reason is power supply failure: electric ovens require 240 volts from two breakers, if one breaker trips due to overload, oven will not start, check breaker panel and reset both breakers, for gas ovens, gas supply valve may be turned off or gas company shut off. Second, clock not set after power outage: many Whirlpool, GE, and LG ovens require clock to be set before bake will start, press Clock and enter time. Third, control lock activated: if control lock light on, press and hold Control Lock or child lock button for 3 seconds. Fourth, door not fully closed or door latch stuck: ovens have safety door latch that must engage, if latch stuck in locked position after self-clean, oven will not start bake. Fifth, Sabbath mode or demo mode enabled, which disables heating, check manual to disable. Sixth, failed heating element on electric where element has visible break or blister, or failed igniter on gas where igniter does not glow. Seventh, thermal fuse blown from overheating. Eighth, temperature sensor failure causing F3E0 error. Ninth, control board failure from power surge causing blank display. To troubleshoot, unplug for 5 to 10 minutes to reset, ensure door closed firmly, set clock, disable control lock, and try setting Bake at 350 and pressing Start.
