Is there a recall on Samsung top loading washers?

Is there a recall on Samsung top loading washers, yes, there was major recall for Samsung top load washers in 2016. Samsung recalled 2.8 million top load washers in United States due to risk of top detaching from chassis during high speed spin, causing injury and property damage. Affected models were manufactured between March 2011 and November 2016, including models WA40, WA45, WA50, WA51, WA52, WA54, WA55 series with serial numbers starting with certain codes. The recall involved risk of excessive vibration and top coming off during spin with bulky items like bedding. Samsung offered free in home repair to reinforce top, or rebate to buy new washer. This recall was widely publicized by Consumer Product Safety Commission. Since then, newer Samsung top load models manufactured after November 2016 are not part of that recall and include improved design with vibration reduction. There have been no new major recalls for Samsung top loaders since 2016, though there have been service bulletins for suspension rods.
