How do you deep clean your Samsung top load washer to remove sludge, detergent buildup, and odor requires several steps. First empty washer completely. Second, clean magic filters inside drum at top rim, pull out filters, remove lint and hair, rinse under water, reinstall. Third, clean detergent and softener dispensers, remove drawer if removable, soak in hot water with vinegar, scrub residue with toothbrush, clean cavity. Fourth, wipe inside of lid, rim, and top edge with cloth and 50/50 white vinegar and water to remove grime. Fifth, clean drain pump filter at bottom back, place towel, open panel, unscrew filter, drain water, remove debris like coins and lint, rinse filter. Sixth, run deepest cleaning cycle, set washer to hottest water, largest load, Normal or Self Clean cycle, add 1 cup bleach or washing machine cleaner tablet like Affresh or Tide cleaner in drum, or 2 to 4 cups white vinegar, run full cycle empty. Do not add detergent. Seventh, after cycle, wipe drum dry and leave lid open to air dry. Repeat monthly to prevent buildup. Use only HE detergent 1 to 2 tablespoons to prevent future sludge.
