Did Rosanna Arquette date Toto?

Yes, Rosanna Arquette did date a member of Toto, and that relationship is directly connected to one of Toto's biggest hits. Rosanna Arquette, the American actress known for films like Desperately Seeking Susan and Pulp Fiction, dated Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro in the early 1980s. Steve Porcaro is the younger brother of drummer Jeff Porcaro and was a founding member of Toto. At the same time, the band released the song Rosanna in 1982 on the album Toto IV, which won the Grammy for Record of the Year. The song was primarily written by David Paich about his own high school girlfriend, but because Steve Porcaro was dating Rosanna Arquette at the time, the band joked that the song was about her, and the title helped. Rosanna Arquette herself has said in interviews that the song was not actually about her, but people assumed it was because of her relationship with Steve Porcaro and her rising fame. The music video for Rosanna featured a young actress who looked somewhat like her. The relationship between Arquette and Porcaro lasted during that era and brought extra publicity to both the actress and the band. So while Rosanna the song was not literally written about Rosanna Arquette, she did date Toto keyboardist Steve Porcaro at the time the song became a hit.
