Gorilla tape is extremely strong, weather-resistant, and water-resistant, but using it to fix an active water leak under pressure is generally a temporary and unreliable band-aid solution. While waterproof adhesive tapes can successfully patch minor leaks on low-pressure, non-structural drainage pipes or outdoor garden hoses for a short time, they cannot withstand ongoing internal water pressure on supply lines. The constant force of pressurized water will eventually force the tape to lift, bubble, and blow out, leading to renewed leaking. For permanent plumbing repairs, you should always replace damaged pipes, faulty gaskets, or failed fittings properly rather than relying on adhesive tape.
