A Cat 1 quick hitch will not fit properly on a Cat 2 tractor without modification and is not recommended because pin sizes and spacing differ, though some people make it work with bushings and adjustments but it is not ideal for safety. Category 1 quick hitch is designed for lower pins 7/8 inch and spacing 26 inches, while Category 2 tractor has lower pins 1-1/8 inch and spacing 32 inches and higher lift capacity up to 5000 pounds. A Cat 1 quick hitch frame is narrower and lighter duty, so if you mount it on Cat 2 tractor, the tractor's lower arms will be wider than quick hitch, requiring you to narrow arms inward, and the quick hitch's bushings will be too small for Cat 2 pins, so you need bushings to adapt. More importantly, Cat 1 quick hitch is rated for about 2000 pounds lift, while Cat 2 tractor can lift 5000 pounds, so you could overload and bend or break quick hitch. The proper solution is to use Cat 2 quick hitch on Cat 2 tractor, which is stronger and wider, and then use Cat 1 to Cat 2 bushings on your Cat 1 implements so they fit Cat 2 quick hitch. This way you have correct strength and spacing. Some quick hitches are combo Cat 1/Cat 2 with adjustable spacing, like Land Pride QH15, which can work for both. For safety, match quick hitch category to tractor category, then adapt implements down, not hitch up.
