You should not put bras in the dryer because heat and tumbling can damage their structure, elasticity, and fit, significantly shortening their lifespan. Bras contain elastic bands, underwire, molded cups, and delicate fabrics like lace and microfiber that are sensitive to high temperatures. The heat from the dryer breaks down elastic fibers over time, causing bands and straps to stretch out and lose support. Underwire can become bent or warped from tumbling, making the bra uncomfortable and less supportive and potentially damaging the dryer drum. Molded cups can lose shape and develop creases or dents. Hooks and clasps can snag on other clothing or get damaged. Instead, bras last much longer when washed in cold water on gentle cycle or hand washed and then reshaped and laid flat or hung to air dry away from direct heat. This preserves elasticity, maintains cup shape, and keeps the bra supportive and comfortable for much longer, saving money and reducing waste compared to frequent replacement due to dryer damage.
