If your LG dryer is not drying, the issue usually falls into three categories: no heat, poor airflow, or sensor or control problems. The most common reason is no heat due to a failed heating element in electric models or failed igniter, flame sensor, or gas valve solenoids in gas models, often triggered by overheating from a blocked vent that blows the thermal fuse. In this case the drum tumbles but clothes remain cold and wet. Second, severely restricted airflow will cause the dryer to heat but not remove moisture. Check if the lint filter is clogged, lint is packed in the filter housing below the filter, the flexible vent behind the dryer is kinked or crushed, the wall duct is filled with lint, or the exterior vent flap is stuck closed. LG will often display d80, d90, d95 errors in this situation. Third, moisture sensor bars that are coated with fabric softener residue may incorrectly sense clothes as dry and end the cycle early. Clean the two metal sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol. Other causes include overloading beyond 75 percent full, using low heat or Energy Saver for heavy towels, low voltage to an electric dryer where only 120 volts of 240 is supplied, or a failed main control board. Start by cleaning all lint paths and checking for heat at the exhaust.
