The most common problem with LG dryers is long drying times and no-heat or low-heat issues related to restricted airflow, followed by d80, d90, d95 duct blockage errors. LG dryers have very sensitive airflow sensors designed to prevent fires, so when lint builds up in the vent hose, wall duct, or exterior flap, the dryer detects reduced airflow and either extends drying time significantly or shuts off the heater to prevent overheating. This results in clothes still damp after a full cycle. The second most common problem is a blown thermal fuse or failed heating element in electric models, or failed igniter or gas valve solenoids in gas models, which causes the dryer to tumble but not heat. This often follows a vent blockage that caused overheating. Other common issues include a broken drum belt or worn idler pulley and drum rollers that cause squealing, thumping, or the drum not turning, especially after 5 to 8 years. Control board and moisture sensor bar failures are less common but can cause inaccurate drying or failure to start. Lint filter housing clogs, where lint falls below the filter and blocks the blower, are also frequent. Regular vent cleaning, filter cleaning before every load, and vacuuming the housing every few months prevent most of these problems.
