Trane products are manufactured in multiple factories worldwide as part of Trane Technologies' global manufacturing network, with primary production for North American residential products in the United States and Mexico. In the United States, Trane has historic manufacturing in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where it was founded in 1913 and still makes commercial chillers, air handlers, and large commercial equipment, as well as plants in Clarksville and Fort Smith, Arkansas, for residential furnaces, air conditioners, and air handlers, Pueblo, Colorado, for commercial equipment, and Vidalia, Georgia, and other locations. Trane also manufactures residential HVAC equipment in Monterrey, Mexico, for the North American market, which is common for many HVAC brands to serve US and Canadian markets. Trane Technologies operates over 30 manufacturing sites globally including factories in Europe and Asia for commercial products, but residential furnaces and air conditioners sold in the US and Canada are primarily made in the US and Mexico meeting UL, AHRI, and CSA standards. Trane has been investing in smart factories with automation, sustainability, and quality improvements, including its showcase facilities. Its strategy is to build products close to customers to reduce shipping and meet local codes, so North American Trane products are largely made in North America.
