The overhead electrical power line running from the utility pole to a residential building is universally called the service drop. This overhead span consists of triplex cables (two insulated hot conductors wrapped around a bare neutral support messenger wire) that deliver high-voltage utility power directly to the home's weatherhead. In contrast, when electrical power is delivered underground from the street transformer to the house, the buried conduit and cables are referred to as an underground service lateral rather than a service drop.
