There has not been a massive CPSC mandatory recall requiring return of all LG dishwashers, but there have been voluntary service campaigns and safety notices for specific models. The most notable recall involved certain LG dishwashers manufactured between 2015 and 2019, specifically models LDF7774ST, LDP6810ST, and LDP6810BD, where the power cord or heating element wiring could overheat and pose a fire risk if the dishwasher was installed with a power cord rather than hardwired and the cord was not properly tightened. LG offered free in-home inspection and repair, including replacing the power cord assembly and control board thermal protector. Additionally, there was a smaller service bulletin for LG dishwashers with TrueSteam features where the steam duct could leak and cause moisture damage to the control board. LG also extended warranty coverage for some models experiencing motor and leak sensor failures. To check if your LG dishwasher is affected, locate the model and serial number on the inside edge of the door and enter it on LG's support recall lookup tool at lg.com/us/support or at cpsc.gov/Recalls, or call LG customer support at 1-800-243-0000. Always register your dishwasher to receive recall notifications.
