LG dishwashers do not have a dedicated physical reset button like a small red button you press, but you can reset them through control panel combinations and power cycling. To reset an LG dishwasher, the most effective method is a hard power reset: turn the dishwasher off with the Power button, then turn off the circuit breaker that supplies it or unplug it if it has a power cord under the sink, and leave it off for 5 to 10 minutes to allow the main control board capacitors to discharge and clear memory. While off, press and hold the Start button for 5 seconds to drain residual power. Turn the breaker back on, press Power, and run a test cycle. For error codes, LG dishwashers have specific reset procedures: to clear a child lock, press and hold the Child Lock or Control Lock button for 3 seconds; to reset after an LE or AE leak error, you must first remove standing water from the base pan by tipping the dishwasher slightly or soaking water with towels, as the leak sensor will keep the drain pump running. For OE drain error, clean the filter and drain hose. Pressing Power and then holding Start/Cancel for 3 seconds will cancel and drain the current cycle. A reset will not fix mechanical failures like a failed drain pump, inlet valve, or spray arm blockage, but often clears temporary electronic glitches and sensor errors.
