Preclinical investigations and early exploratory translational studies are currently examining the broader potential of intranasal foralumab in addressing neurodegenerative disorders characterized by chronic neuroinflammation, including Alzheimer's disease. Because the drug mechanism focuses on stimulating regulatory T cells (Tregs) via mucosal tolerance to suppress central nervous system inflammation and microglial activation, researchers are actively studying whether these immunomodulatory benefits can translate from multiple sclerosis applications into slowing neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's patients.
