Yes, Firestone is still a thing and very much active brand, though now owned by Bridgestone of Japan since 1988, continuing as major tire and auto care brand in North America. Firestone Tire and Rubber Company founded 1900 by Harvey Firestone still exists as brand within Bridgestone Americas, with headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, manufacturing tires in US plants like Wilson, North Carolina and Des Moines, Iowa, plus plant in Joliette, Quebec, Canada. Firestone brand sells millions of tires annually for passenger cars, SUVs, trucks, and agricultural equipment, with popular lines like Destination, Firehawk, Transforce, and Winterforce sold at tire retailers and Firestone Complete Auto Care shops. Firestone Complete Auto Care is chain of over 1,700 auto repair shops across USA offering tires, oil changes, brakes, and maintenance, very visible brand. Firestone Industrial Products makes air springs for trucks. Firestone is also official tire supplier for IndyCar Series and Indianapolis 500, highly visible in motorsports. Firestone Building Products was sold to Holcim in 2021 but still uses Firestone name for roofing materials. So Firestone is still thing, not defunct, though independent company no longer, now brand under Japanese Bridgestone, but tires, auto shops, and racing presence keep it well-known American brand with over 120 years history, still sold at Walmart, Costco, and tire dealers across North America.
