Craftsman is both a skill and a job, depending on context, as it refers to person who has mastered skill and also occupation based on that skill. As a skill, craftsmanship refers to high level of expertise, precision, and artistry developed through years of practice, apprenticeship, and experience in working with materials like wood, metal, textile, or stone, emphasizing quality, attention to detail, and pride in hand-made work. As a job, craftsman is occupation or profession where person earns living by using that skill, such as carpenter, cabinetmaker, blacksmith, weaver, potter, stonemason, tailor, or electrician who is skilled tradesperson. In traditional sense, craftsman was job title in guild system with ranks apprentice, journeyman, craftsman or master craftsman who had mastered trade. In modern labor market, craftsman is classified as skilled trades job, often requiring certification or license. So craftsman is both skill level describing mastery and job describing occupation, similar to artist being both skill and profession. Someone can have craftsman skill as hobby without it being job, and someone can have craftsman job title while still developing skill. So answer is craftsman is both skill indicating mastery and quality, and job indicating occupation in skilled trades that uses that skill to make or repair things by hand with expertise.
