Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses are generally designed to be worn throughout the waking day, with standard daily wearing times typically ranging from 10 to 14 hours, depending on individual corneal health and professional recommendations from your optometrist. Unlike soft contact lenses, standard RGP lenses are almost never approved for overnight or continuous sleeping wear unless specifically prescribed as orthokeratology lenses used overnight to reshape the cornea temporarily. Lenses should always be removed, cleaned, and disinfected before going to bed.
