Yes, LG makes good gas dryers and they are consistently rated among the best mainstream gas dryers for efficiency, quiet operation, and reliability. LG gas dryers like the DLGX4001W, DLGX4201W, and DLGX5501W share the same large 7.4 cubic foot capacity, robust drum and roller design, and precise dual moisture sensor system as LG's highly rated electric models, but use a gas burner system for heating. They are Energy Star certified and use less electricity than electric models because they only need 120 volts for tumbling and controls, with gas providing the heat, which can lower operating costs in regions where natural gas is cheaper than electricity. LG gas dryers feature TurboSteam for wrinkle removal, Allergiene and SteamSanitary cycles, and smart ThinQ app control. Reliability data shows LG gas dryers have a first-year service rate around 5 to 7 percent, which is below the industry average of 10 to 15 percent and competitive with Whirlpool and Maytag gas dryers. Common wear items like igniters, flame sensors, and gas valve coils are similar to other brands and typically last 8 to 10 years. LG gas dryers also include strong safety features with d80, d90, d95 duct blockage detection. For installation, they require proper gas line sizing and rigid metal venting. Overall, LG gas dryers are a very good choice if you have natural gas available.
