Are LG dryers a good brand?

Yes, LG dryers are considered a very good brand and consistently rank among the top two or three mainstream dryer brands in the United States for overall performance, energy efficiency, quiet operation, and reliability. LG dryers like the DLEX4000W, DLEX5500W, and DLGX4001W gas models receive Excellent or Very Good ratings from Consumer Reports, Wirecutter, and Reviewed.com for drying performance, moisture sensor accuracy, and owner satisfaction. Key advantages include large 7.3 to 7.4 cubic foot capacity that handles king-size comforters easily, highly accurate dual moisture sensors that prevent over-drying and save energy, TurboSteam and SteamFresh cycles that remove wrinkles in 10 minutes, and innovative dual inverter heat pump technology that uses up to 60 percent less energy than conventional vented dryers and is Energy Star Most Efficient certified. LG dryers also have strong safety features with d80, d90, d95 duct blockage sensors that alert you when vents are 80 to 95 percent blocked, reducing fire risk. Reliability data from Yale Appliance shows LG dryers have a first-year service call rate of only 4 to 6 percent, well below the industry average of 10 to 15 percent. The main downside is that replacement control boards can be more expensive than Whirlpool or Maytag, but overall LG is an excellent brand for most families.
