No, not all solids are hard. While hardness is a common characteristic of rigid materials like diamonds and metals, the physical state of being a solid simply means that a substance maintains a fixed volume and structural shape under normal conditions. Many solids can be extremely soft, flexible, or elastic, such as soft paraffin wax, solid sodium metal (which can be easily cut with a butter knife), soft rubber polymers, foam plastics, and biological tissues like fat and muscle.
