Several companies manufacture paint in Canada, both domestic Canadian companies and international brands with Canadian plants. Major manufacturers with production in Canada include PPG, which owns the Dulux brand in Canada and manufactures Dulux paints at plants in Canada and US, sold at Dulux stores and Home Depot. Sherwin-Williams manufactures and distributes paints in Canada through its Canadian division, including Sherwin-Williams and General Paint brands. Benjamin Moore has distribution in Canada and some blending. Truly Canadian-owned manufacturers include Cloverdale Paint, headquartered in Surrey, British Columbia, founded in 1933, which is one of Canada's largest Canadian-owned paint manufacturers with plants in BC, Alberta, and Ontario. Para Paints, owned by PPG now but originally Canadian, manufactures in Canada. MF Paints, based in Quebec, manufactures in Laval. BeautiTone, which is Home Hardware's house brand, is manufactured by PPG for Home Hardware and made in Canada. Sico, a Quebec brand, is owned by PPG and made in Canada. Farrow and Ball is imported. So while many international brands like Behr, Glidden, and Valspar are made in US and shipped to Canada, several plants in Ontario, Quebec, and BC produce paint domestically, with Cloverdale, MF Paints, and PPG's Canadian operations being largest Canadian manufacturers, employing thousands and meeting Canadian VOC regulations.
