The serial number on a LiftMaster garage door opener is located on a label on the motor unit that is mounted on ceiling of garage, typically on back, side, or bottom of motor housing. Look for white or silver label that includes model number, serial number, manufacturing date, and Learn button color, usually on back panel near antenna wire and Learn button, or on side panel near power cord, or on bottom near light cover. Serial number is often 10 to 12 digits, may include letters, and is labeled as S/N or Serial No. For chain and belt drive models like 8355W, 84505, 8360W, label is on back of motor unit above Learn button. For wall mount jackshaft models like 8500W, label is on side of unit that mounts to wall beside door. Model number is also on same label, which you need for manual and parts. If label not visible, check manual that came with opener, serial number may be on manual or box. Also check MyQ app, MyQ app may show serial number for connected openers under device settings. Serial number is important for warranty claims, manual lookup, and identifying Learn button color and frequency. If you cannot find label, contact LiftMaster support with model number and purchase date.
