Hotpoint appliances are made primarily in Europe, with factories in UK, Italy, and Poland operated by Whirlpool Corporation EMEA division, which owns Hotpoint brand in Europe since 2014 acquisition, plus some builder models made in US by GE Appliances owned by Haier. Hotpoint was originally founded in 1911 in California, USA as American brand, but in Europe Hotpoint brand was owned by Indesit Company based in Fabriano, Italy. In 2014, Whirlpool Corporation headquartered in Benton Harbor, Michigan, USA acquired Indesit Company for about 1 billion euros, gaining Hotpoint and Indesit brands, with manufacturing at Yate in UK for tumble dryers, Fabriano, Italy for washing machines and dishwashers, and Lodz, Poland for other appliances, with Made in Europe label, using Whirlpool platforms but with Hotpoint branding as budget line below Whirlpool brand. Some Hotpoint small appliances may be made by other factories under license in other countries. In North America, Hotpoint brand rights are with GE Appliances, which was acquired by Haier Group in 2016, and GE Appliances makes some builder-grade Hotpoint models in Louisville, Kentucky, USA with Made in USA label for US market, but main Hotpoint market is UK and Europe where appliances are European-made. So Hotpoint appliances are made in UK, Italy, and Poland by Whirlpool Corporation for European market, and some models made in Louisville, Kentucky, USA by GE Appliances owned by Haier for North American builder market.
