The ideal paper for RISO printing is uncoated, porous, and textured paper stock with a weight ranging between 60gsm and 200gsm (such as standard offset paper, recycled kraft paper, or lightweight cardstock). Because RISO ink relies entirely on physical absorption into paper fibers rather than thermal heat-fusing, glossy or heavily coated papers must be strictly avoided to prevent smudging and drying failures.
