A RISO print is a physical document or art piece created using a digital duplicator that combines elements of traditional screen printing and photocopying. The machine burns a digital stencil (called a master) onto a thermal roll, wraps it around an ink drum, and stamps vibrant spot colors onto paper at high speeds. RISO prints are instantly recognizable by their matte, textured ink appearance, vibrant neon or pastel soy-based color palettes, and slight imperfections that give them a distinct, hand-crafted zine aesthetic.
