LG is a parent brand that manufactures products under several distinct brand names and sub-brands across different categories. The primary consumer brand is LG itself, used for TVs, refrigerators, washers, dryers, air conditioners, and other electronics. Under LG Electronics, there are premium sub-brands like LG Signature, which is LG's ultra-premium luxury line of appliances and TVs with minimalist design and top performance, and LG Objet, a furniture-concept appliance line popular in Korea. LG also makes LG Styler, a steam clothing care system. In appliances, LG manufactures Kenmore Elite branded refrigerators and washers sold at Sears and other retailers under OEM contracts in the past, though this is less common now. LG Chem, a sister company, makes batteries under LG Energy Solution, which supplies batteries for Tesla, GM, and Hyundai EVs. LG also produces components for other brands: LG Display makes OLED and LCD panels that are sold to Sony, Panasonic, Philips, and Vizio for their TVs. LG Innotek makes camera modules for Apple iPhones. In HVAC, LG makes air conditioners that are sometimes rebranded. Historically, LG products were sold under the GoldStar brand before 1995, so GoldStar was essentially LG. Today, LG does not own many separate consumer-facing brands like Whirlpool does, but rather focuses on the main LG brand with Signature and other sub-brands for premium segments.
