Is LG Canadian made?

No, LG is not Canadian made. LG is a South Korean multinational conglomerate headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, originally founded as GoldStar in 1958. Its appliances, TVs, and electronics are designed in South Korea and manufactured primarily in South Korea, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Mexico, and the United States. LG does not have appliance manufacturing plants in Canada. The confusion sometimes arises because LG has a significant Canadian subsidiary, LG Electronics Canada, headquartered in Toronto, which handles sales, marketing, and distribution for the Canadian market and has been operating since the 1980s. LG products sold in Canada are adapted for the Canadian market with bilingual packaging and CSA certification, but they are imported. LG does operate a large appliance factory in Clarksville, Tennessee in the US, which makes many washing machines and dryers for the North American market, including Canada, to avoid tariffs and reduce shipping costs, so some LG washers in Canada are Made in USA. However, there is no LG factory that manufactures LG products in Canada itself. LG is definitively a Korean company with global manufacturing, and its products in Canada are imported from its other global factories, particularly South Korea, Mexico, and the US.
