Two of the most common reasons for industrial and domestic pump failure are cavitation and bearing failure. Cavitation occurs when vapor bubbles form and violently collapse inside low-pressure zones of the pump, causing severe mechanical pitting, vibration, and impeller destruction. Bearing failure is usually triggered by inadequate lubrication, excessive radial load, moisture contamination, or thermal stress, which seizes the motor shaft and halts fluid circulation.
