My Samsung washing machine has mold on the rubber seal, how to remove it requires cleaning and disinfecting the door boot gasket where mold grows due to moisture and detergent residue. Steps, first wear gloves, mix solution of 1 cup bleach and 1 gallon hot water or use 50/50 white vinegar and water for less harsh option, or use baking soda paste. Pull back rubber seal gently to expose inner fold where mold hides, soak cloth in bleach solution and wipe thoroughly inside and outside of gasket, scrub black spots with old toothbrush, let solution sit 10 minutes to kill mold. For stubborn mold, apply paste of baking soda and water, let sit 30 minutes, then scrub. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Then run empty Self Clean cycle with bleach or washer cleaner tablet to sanitize drum. To prevent return, leave door open after each wash to air dry, wipe gasket dry after use, use only HE detergent small amount, remove clothes promptly, and run Self Clean monthly with bleach. If gasket is heavily damaged or mold deep inside rubber that will not clean, you may need to replace door boot seal part DC97, cost $100 to $200 plus labor.
