Is EcoSmart a Chinese company?

EcoSmart is not a Chinese company, though the physical products are often manufactured in China. EcoSmart is a private-label brand name used in different contexts. In lighting, EcoSmart is owned by The Home Depot, which is an American company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Home Depot created the EcoSmart brand for its exclusive line of energy-efficient LED bulbs. The bulbs are designed to Home Depot's specifications in the US but are produced under contract by large original equipment manufacturers, most of which are based in China, such as Leedarson Lighting, which is a major Chinese LED factory. This is standard practice for most lighting brands worldwide, including many that are considered American or European, because China dominates LED bulb assembly. In water heating, EcoSmart Green Energy Products is also an American company based in Florida that designs tankless water heaters. In apparel, Hanes EcoSmart is from Hanesbrands, an American company. So while you may see Made in China on the package, the brand ownership, quality control, warranty, and corporate headquarters for EcoSmart lighting are American, not Chinese. The company is not registered or owned in China.
